New Member Journey

Your First Year with Rotary

Here’s what to expect from your first meeting through your first year — a warm, structured welcome so you feel at home and find your place quickly.

Before You’re Inducted

A warm, personal welcome

  • Your sponsor meets with you one-on-one to share what makes our club special.
  • We’ll go over how meetings work, attendance, and make-up options — no surprises.
  • You’ll receive a Welcome Packet: our directory, current projects, committees, and the year’s calendar.
  • We help you set up your My Rotary account and dues so you’re ready to go.
Induction Day

You officially become a Rotarian

  • A short, meaningful induction ceremony — your sponsor stands with you.
  • You’ll receive your Rotary pin and name badge to wear with pride.
Your First Week

You’ll feel at home fast

  • A personal welcome from our co-presidents.
  • You’re added to our email list and social groups so you never miss a thing.
  • We take your photo for the directory, and your sponsor sits with you and introduces you to at least five members.
  • A friendly Week 1 check-in: “How was your first experience?”
Weeks 2–3

Getting to know Rotary

  • An introduction to the Four-Way Test, Rotary’s Areas of Focus, and our club’s history and traditions.
  • Learn about The Rotary Foundation and the many ways to serve.
  • A Week 3 check-in: “What interests you most?”
Weeks 4–6

Finding your place

  • We match your interests and strengths to a committee where you’ll thrive.
  • You’re encouraged to jump into your first hands-on service project.
  • A Week 6 check-in: “Do you feel connected?”
Months 3–12

Growing with us

  • A Month 3 conversation: “How can we deepen your involvement?”
  • A Month 6 chat about any leadership interests you may have.
  • A friendly 6–12 month review and a short orientation survey so we keep improving.
